2011 Aleksander Reserve
Aleksander Reserve 2011 continues the refined yet structured style of our inaugural vintage, offering a poised and elegant expression of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. A cooler growing season produced moderate alcohol and vibrant acidity, creating a wine of finesse and exceptional pairing versatility.
Fermentation took place primarily in half-ton bins with thrice-daily punch-downs to maximize color and tannin extraction. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon were aged separately in a combination of French, Eastern European, and Serbian oak barrels, with approximately 50% new oak. After blending for optimal balance and complexity, the wine returned to barrel for extended aging, with a total of 30 months in oak ensuring remarkable integration, depth, and length.
Aleksander Reserve 2011 reveals layers of red and black fruits, subtle spice, and a polished, silky texture leading to a long, elegant finish.
